Mohammed Cherbatji

Mohammed Cherbatji is a Lecturer at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), specialising in AI Engineering, Front-End Development, Advanced JavaScript, Web Development, and Artificial Intelligence. He holds an MSc in Software Engineering & Database Technologies and a BSc in Computing in Multimedia Systems/Web Engineering.

Mohammed has contributed to several Erasmus+ research initiatives, including the InterAct and DisAbuse projects, and has been active within the N‑TUTORR programme through projects such as Reimagining Student Support Services. In 2024–2025, he served as IADT's GenAI Champion, designing and delivering institution‑wide training on Generative AI and co‑authoring the book Empowering Learners and Developing Capabilities with AI in the Irish Technological University Sector. He has also delivered workshops on AI and Sustainability across European partner institutions through the FilmEU Agora project, which led to his co‑authoring of the FilmEU position paper, Agora – AI and the Future of Film Education.

In addition to his academic work, Mohammed has led multiple Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher projects, focusing on UI/UX design, system architecture, web development, and Generative AI platform development.

His research interests include Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, and related areas. He is also committed to Universal Design and the development of accessible technologies, with a particular focus on designing digital tools and AI‑driven systems that support individuals with cognitive impairments.
